Henry & Gray recently had the opportunity to work with our client who was about to open some new hotels and needed uniforms for their people. They wanted a fresh look, one that would be more modern and casual when compared to the uniforms of other hotels.

Their view is that modern and casual uniforms will allow guests to see hotel representatives as approachable and down-to-earth, which makes them more likely to ask for help or make special requests.  In contrast, traditional uniforms can make the team seem stiff and formal, which can make guests feel less comfortable or even intimidated. As a result, hotels that want to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere should consider switching to more modern and casual uniforms for their employees.

The Client

The Brief

The client wanted a couple of options that can be mixed and matched to create their own personal style. They care about sustainability so they prioritise the use of organic cotton fabrics and will continue to increase the use of these over time.  Their uniform items include blazers, jeans, t-shirts, polos or chef jackets, & aprons to name just some examples.

The Solution

The team at Henry & Gray got to work straight away on sourcing the best cotton materials for the job, understanding the need to go organic where possible. They got to work on designing and creating the perfect mix of clothes for the client from a range of different ready-stock brands sourced from New Zealand and Australia.

Importantly, Henry & Gray went further and created a dedicated corporate ordering website for the client to help speed up the ordering process and ensure accuracy.  The client was really happy with the range of designs Henry & Gray provided and how sustainability was always considered as briefed. They also really valued the dedicated corporate ordering website and how it made the ordering process significantly easier, taking complexity out of the process.
